Introduction

The general philosophy of Landmark University is ‘Breaking New Grounds’ and in line with this, the Department of Agricultural and Biosystems Engineering poised to trail blaze in agricultural revolution with the objective of producing graduates who have high moral and academic standards, equipped with the adequate practical background necessary for them to be of immediate value to the industry, the nation in general and be self-employable by possessing the necessary entrepreneurial skills.

 

The Department offers a five-year programme leading to the award of Bachelor of Engineering (B.Eng.) in Agricultural Engineering and is housed within the Engineering complex on campus. During the course of the training, students are exposed to modern agricultural practices in the Departmental irrigation field, University Teaching & Research farm and the Landmark University farm aside other practical experience of Student Work Program and Student’s Industrial Work Experience Scheme.

 

Our focus is on delivering applied, practical, and profitable research solutions that will support agricultural productivity and address environmental management challenges.  The program is designed to produce competent Professional Engineers and experts by familiarizing students with the basic theoretical and practical tools and techniques required for excellent performance in their future professional world of work. The Department commenced at the inception of the University in 2010/2011 academic session with one staff and 38 students and has produced several competent graduates who are gainfully employed across the globe
